Unique gold owl brooch
18ct gold brooch in the form of an owl with diamond eyes designed by the sculptor Luciano Minguzzi for the AUREA exhibition in 1972 and executed by Anni di Gennaro in Florence.
H. 5 cm
Owls are a recurring theme in Minguzzi's work, appearing, for example, on both his monumental bronze door for Milan Cathedral, installed in 1965, and the Door of Good and Evil for St Peter's in the Vatican, which was commissioned in 1970 and completed in 1977. The owl appears on the side of evil.
